3.45 Ayr, Friday, September 16

The Al Maktoum, Dundee College (3.45) at Ayr on Friday is wide open, but may provide Richard Fahey’s 3-year-old filly Giddy with an opportunity to resume winning ways. The daughter of Kyllachy has yet to add to her debut win, over 5 furlongs, at Beverley last August, but the return to the minimum trip should be in her favour and she’s reportedly worked extremely well.

She demonstrated, when going down by a head in a 0-95 contest, over 6 furlongs, on her seasonal debut at Ripon, off a 1lb higher mark, that a race of this nature is well within her capabilities. Her two subsequent efforts have been less convincing, but she drops back into 0-85 company on just her seventh start – just her second over 5 furlongs – and it’s much too soon to be writing her off just yet.

Selection: Ayr 3.45 Giddy to win
